corporate responsibility
l
our plans
·
Develop and roll out a new flexible working scheme
·
Set targets for waste reduction
·
Apply for accreditation to EMS ISO 14001, the internationally
-recognised standard for environmental management systems
which demonstrates that a company has high environmental
standards and complies with all relevant legislation.
·
Establish better office practices, including setting screens
to sleep after five minutes, disable screen savers and
hibernate screens after 60 minutes, set printing to default
to double-sided and black and white where possible,
establish a turn-off culture for all ICT equipment including
projectors, TV screens, phone chargers and set-top boxes.
·
Continue to drive down travel by challenging whether
business air travel is really necessary, maximise the use
of video and teleconferencing, publish our business
travel carbon footprint to raise awareness and set targets
to reduce the total over time, encourage the use of
greener company cars and wider adoption of our
Route4work schemes.
·
Invest further in building maintenance to improve energy
efficiency. We have plans to fit more motion sensor
lighting, match heating ventilation and cooling plant
operating times to accurately reflect occupancy hours,
adjust heating and cooling temperature set points by
1
0
C and install a central control unit and install solar
and people sensors in more areas.
·
Pioneer products and services that have a positive impact
on the environment, such as Carbon Creditz, a kind of
green currency that will reward people for caring about
climate change.
·
Adopted CLIC Sargent as our
corporate charity and will work
closely with them to focus our
corporate fundraising for the
next two years.
·
Encourage greater numbers of employees to get involved in
community volunteering projects by giving staff two days
paid time a year to volunteer.
We might have been treading the right path
for three decades but we know that now is the
time to really stride out. Climate change, clients'
needs and our own values demand nothing less.
